Our logo is a modern version of an older school logo. We have held our traditional school colour, which is light blue, and the yellow represents the kōwhai flower.
Our logo is based on the concept of tūrangawaewae. Literally tūranga (standing place), waewae (feet), it is often translated as ‘a place to stand’. Tūrangawaewae are places where we feel especially empowered and connected. They are our foundation, our place in the world, our home.
The kōwhai flower represents the kōwhai trees at the front of our school and our place on Kōwhai Avenue as well as Oxford Crescent.
The koru, which embraces the kōwhai, represents growth and our cultural diversity. Our mission statement Alive with Learning - Te Ako Ora means Life Learning.
